Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi's son and MLA Amit Jogi was Suspended from the Congress party for six years for his alleged role in in purportedly fixing the Antagarh by-election in 2014. The Chhattisgarh Congress Committee which was issued show cause notice to Amit met today and announced suspension on the MLA.

Few days before an audio tape allegedly showed he was involved in fixing an assembly by-election in the state.After Announcing the decision Chhattisgarh Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel said that the party has acted; now it is BJP'S turn to act against the "murder of democracy" in Antagarh.

Few days back Chattisgarh Chief Minister's son-in-law Puneet Gupta was caught in alleged phone tape scandal showing him to be offering a bribe to Congress candidate.For a by-election in Anantnag constituency, Puneet gave an offer to the Congress candidate. The man in question who Puneet spoke was former Congress CM Ajit Jogi's son Amit Jogi.
The Congress' Chhattisgarh unit also recommended that Ajit Jogi need to be suspended for six years over the controversy.
