1.40 Cr Diamond Removed From Woman's Stomach

A Chinese woman nabbed by cops when she tried to smuggle the 1.4 Crs worth gem by swallowing it. Jiang Xulian, 39, from China was visiting Thailand and she allegedly robbed the diamond worth nearly $280,000 from the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fare.
She swallowed the diamond before replacing it with a similar-looking stone. She then tried to flee Thailand but she was caught by airport authorities when she tried to fly out of Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport .
X-ray showed the diamond-like object in her large intestine and she was caught by police few days before. She confessed to her theft to police and Thai authorities have surgically taken out the stolen 6-carat diamond. Doctors used a coloscope to extract the gem successfully. She may face up to three years in prison for the crime.
