Chintan without Revanth, Meeting without KC Venugopal

The Congress never ceases to surprise. Firstly, it is holding a state-level Chintan Shivir without the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Revanth Reddy. Revanth is currently on a tour of the US. Interestingly, his bete noire and Nalgonda MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy too is on a foreign tour. Holding a meeting in their absence itself was a surprise.
But, the meeting began on Wednesday at Keesara, where senior leaders like VH, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and others were present. Significantly, the whole of the faction that is considered close to Revanth Reddy was absent. MLA Seetakka and others chose not to attend the meeting.
As if this was not enough, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, who had given his time and had even booked his tickets, cancelled his tour at the last moment. Without Venugopal, the senior Congress leaders were all confused. The meeting became a lacklustre affair in his absence. The programmes ended tamely without achieving anything substantial.
At the end of the aborted Chintan Shivir, the party leaders had decided on two things. They demanded that non-Reddy BCs be given better representation in the party fora. Then they said that the high command is final for them. So, at the end of the whole exercise, what did the party achieve through this Chintan Shivir? Zilch. No
