Chiranjeevi attended World Telugu Conference on the 4th Day. He began his speech thanking Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao for making Telugu Film Industry a part of Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu. 'I must praise KCR for striving hard for Telugu Language and felicitating Telugu Film Personalities. Though he wasn't here now, I thank CM on behalf of Film Industry. Everybody should realize what's the speciality of Telugu Language and learn to respect it. We need to continue such conferences to make the future generations realize the importance of Telugu Language. Once, An Elderly Man was asked what's Mother Tongue! In which language do we get the thoughts and what language we speak in our dreams is our Mother Tongue. KCR proved it by making Telugu compulsory from Class 1 to Intermediate,' he opined.
On this occasion, The Actor-cum-Politician shared how IT Minister KTR teased him - 'When KTR invited Me for World Telugu Conference, I congratulated him for his achievements in the recent past and the prestigious award he received in English. Then, KTR asked Me is it fair to speak in English when he was inviting me for Telugu Mahasabhalu. I thought what he said is absolutely right! When Telugus converse, It would be nice if we speak in our mother tongue only. When I conveyed my apology, KTR said he was just joking. I questioned myself why would two Telugu People speak in English when they meet...Is it due to comfort or something else. When I was Union Minister, Officers in Delhi used to feel proud of speaking to each other in Hindi. Particularly, Tamilians feel pride in speaking in their mother tongue. Whereas, Telugu People prefer speaking in English and it pains Me. Let's offer Telugu as a treasure for future generations'.
Megastar revealed he and his wife Surekha make sure their children and grand children speak in Telugu in the house.
