CID Arrests EX MD In Ap Fiber Net Irregularities Row!

Days after an FIR was filed in the alleged multi-crore scam in the AP State Fiber Net Limited (APSFL), the first arrest was made. The former Managing Director of the Corporation was arrested on Saturday.
One K Sambasiva Rao, who held the post of the Corporation Managing Director was arrested over his alleged role in the irregularities. He was shifted to the medical facility for a medical check-up. Upon the arrival of the reports, he might be produced before the Court.
Besides Sambasiva Rao, one Hari Prasad was also arrested by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials. The duo was quizzed over their involvement in the alleged scam. There are allegations against a few officials of violating the regulations to get the tenders.
Sambasiva Rao was the Managing Director of the AP State Fiber Net Limited during the previous regime. He came to the post under deputation from the Union Government in the previous government.
The Andhra Pradesh government gave the responsibility of probing into the case to the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID). It is said that the irregularities in the corporation are worth more than Rs 300 crore.
