Citizenship Law To Be BJP's New Weapon For the Polls?

Bharatiya Janata Party banked heavily on the alleged corruption of Congress for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. In the 2018 polls, the BJP used the image of Charishma of Narendra Modi. The situation has changed now and the saffron party wants an X factor to win the polls to get massive votes.
Ahead of the polls in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and others, the Union Government brought up the controversial Citizenship issue. The other day, the MHA issued a notification asking two District Collectors in Gujarat to grant Citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, and other Minorities who came from Mulsim nations.
While the discussion on the move is still in the news, the saffron party made a sensational claim and said that Citizenship will be rolled in West Bengal too. West Bengal is one of the few strongholds where the BJP was unable to crack the arena.
The claims were made by none other than the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari. Talking about the Citizenship exercise in Gujarat, Suvendu Adhikari said that as the process has started West Bengal will not be left out and the process will be done in the state too.
The Citizenship row in Gujarat made many think that the BJP might use it as a weapon for the polls. On the other hand, the Delhi-based AAP is also backing the exercise and said that it also wants the implementation of the exercise in Gujarat as it wants to enter the state.
