Clever LV Giving Sleepless Nights To Chandrababu Naidu
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 April 2019 10:03 AM ISTThe Chandrababu Naidu-Chief Secretary faceoff is taking interesting twists and turns. Unlike the chief secretaries in the past, LV Subramanyam is unrelenting when it came to dealing with Chandrababu. Usually, the chief secretaries speak up only after retirement. But, LV is taking on Chandrababu even while being a CS.
While everyone knows the circumstances in which LV became the CS, it were Chandrababuâs comments that worsened the situation. Chandrababu had questioned why LV, who has cases against him, was made a CS. But, the fact is the cases have already been completed and LV has already been given a clean chit. So, Chandrababuâs claims have proved counter-productive.
A stung LV then questioned how Chandrababu could conduct review meetings and issued notices to the officials who attended the review meetings. With this, the officials have stopped attending Chandrababuâs reviews. With no officials present, there was no question of Chandrababu conducting review meetings.
To add fuel to fire, LV Subramanyam said in an interview that Chandrababuâs rule would not be till June 8 as was being claimed by the TDP brass. He said if the YSRCP wins the elections, he has to resign on May 23 itself. These comments have rubbed salt to Chandrababuâs wounds.
More worrisome for the TDP are the spate of reviews that LV is conducting with the officials of various departments. This is not to the liking of Chandrababu and his band of ministers. On one hand, Chandrababu is stopped from conducting review meetings and on the other hand, CS is trying to get all details that could be useful to fix Chandrababu. A toothless Chandrababu showed his impotent rage by shooting off a missive to the election commission asking it to give him the power to hold review meetings. It is another matter that the EC would throw his letter into the dustbin citing election code.
Meanwhile, the CS is in Delhi. Though he is in Delhi ostensibly to attend the hearing of the National Green Tribunal on illegal constructions in Krishna district, the TDP feels he is likely to meet other officials of the Central Government and work against the TDP interests. The TDP is tracking his every move. This drama is likely to continue till the results are out. Letâs see who will have the last laugh.
