Talking about the idea behind coming up with such a great initiative, the Chief Minister said he got to know the problems faced by the people who cannot afford to send their kids to schools due to financial situations when he was doing Padayatra.
"After coming to power, we brought 'Jagananna Amma Vodi' to provide financial assistance of Rs 15,000 every year to each mother. The amount will be directly deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. In the second phase, an amount of 6,673 crores were released," CM Jagan said
To benefit the beneficiaries, the government made a provision for the students studying from class IX to XII by giving them the option to either take money or a laptop under the scheme.
The laptops provided under the scheme for the beneficiaries come with a warranty of three years. If the laptop gets any repair, it will be replaced within one week.
