Cognizant To Cut 7000 Jobs

IT services company Cognizant will once again remove a large number of employees, 7000 jobs will be cut in the next few quarters. The decision was made in the wake of existing content moderation.
The information technology services provider will also eliminate up to 6000 jobs in its units to invest in growth areas such as cloud and internet, it is also planning to cut more employees as part of some strategic restructuring. Brian Humphries, chief executive officer of Cognizant, said the exit from some parts of the content moderation business could hurt financial performance in the coming year.
Brian Humphries said this in a post-earnings conference call with analysts at New Jersey headquarters. It has been revealed that between 10,000-12,000 senior employees will be fired from their current roles. Company officials said it was 2 percent of the company's total workforce.
