Collection from students stayed By High court

Andhra Pradesh government has recently passed a circular in which it instructed all district educational officers to collect Rs 10 each from all students and teachers in about 64,000 educational institutions spread across the state.

The circular was issued to make everyone as part of capital construction and the money will go towards chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu's 'My Capital, My Amaravati, My Brick' programme. But the programme has earned wrath from opposition parties.

Now the issue has reached to High Court and it is not pleased with collection of funds from students and questioned the government about controversial order. Several petitioners approached the High court about the donations being collected and responding to them HC directed the AP Government to stop collecting money.

The HC has questioned the AP government's circular and also given a stay order and quashed the circulars sent to schools by the education department.
