Hijab Issue: College sends back student with Tilak!
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 Feb 2022 3:44 PM GMTAs a big development in the ongoing Hijab controversy, the High Court of Karnataka had made it clear that no student should wear religious attire to the educational institutions and the establishments should not allow the students if they fail to follow the guidelines issued by the Court over the issue.
However, a Hindu student is said to have not followed the guidelines and tried to enter the campus with a tilak on his forehead.
After spotting the male student with a tilak, the authorities have asked the student to remove the tilak to enter the campus. But he said no to this reportedly.
A few Hindu groups have reached the college and staged a protest against the issue and made an attempt to make the college management let the male student enter the campus.
However, the management made it clear that he would not be allowed to enter the campus unless he takes off the tilak.
The confrontation between the college management and the Hindu groups had led to a tense situation outside the college campus. The issue is said to have diluted after the student left the campus.
Earlier, the Hindu group members have alleged that wearing tilak is not a religious practice and it's a lifestyle and hence tilak should not be seen from the religious lens. However, the college management did not accept the argument.
