Will Left Join Hands With YS Jagan?
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 Aug 2018 1:46 PM GMTPolitical heat is on in Andhra Pradesh. With the elections barely less than a year away, every political party is finetuning its strategy. All the opposition parties are planning to dislodge the ruling TDP. Across the state, there is a genuine ground swell of public support for YS Jagan. The turnout at the meetings he is addressing and the public support to his Praja Sankalpa Yatra are making the Left parties calibrate their strategies.
Earlier, the Left wanted to align with Jana Sena. But, they now find that Pawan Kalyan is proving to be a dud. Also, the cadre at the ground level is not happy with the alliance with the Jana Sena. They feel that if the Left aligns with the YSRCP, it can defeat both the TDP and the BJP in one stroke. The Left parties also believe that the cases filed against YS Jagan are just vendetta and do not stand the test of law.
"We have aligned with Chandrababu in the past. But, he later ditched us and joined hands with the BJP. Now, he again wants to join hands with us. This is sheer opportunism and we do not want to be taken in by such strategems," said a senior leader of the Left parties.
So, it appears the Left is slowly, but surely moving closer to the YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh.
