The ongoing tussle between Andhra Pradesh's State Election Commissioner(SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and YSRCP Minister Kodali Nani has once again become the much-talked-about issue.

The face-off between the duo has reached a boiling point on Saturday. As a new development, in the issue, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has directed the Krishna district SP to file criminal cases against Kodali Nani.

Going into detail, Kodali Nani is said to have made objectionable comments against Nimmagadda which degrade the dignity of the SEC post on Friday while addressing a press briefing.

Taking a serious note of the objectionable comments, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has served notices to Kodali Nani on Friday and sought an explanation from the Minister for making such comments. Kodali Nani was also directed by the SEC to not speaking to the media till the Panchayat polls are held.

Responding to the notices, the AP Supplies Minister said that he has respect for the Constitutional institutions and he didn't make any comments that degrade SEC's dignity.

Adding further, Kodali Nani said he just gave some suggestions to the SEC and said, he would not withdraw his comments.

With Kodali Nani not ready to withdraw his comments, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has issued directives to Krishna District SP to register criminal cases against Kodali Nani under Sections 504, 505 (1) (c) and 506 for violating the election model code of conduct.

Following this, Kodali Nani has knocked on the doors of the Andhra Pradesh High Court against the orders issued by Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. The High Court will hear the petition soon.

On the other hand, it is also said that Kodali Nani wants to complain against SEC to the Assembly Privilege Committee. The Minister is expected to reach out to Speaker Tammineni Sitaram to initiate privilege proceedings against the SEC.

The Assembly Privilege Committee is already probing into notices served by YSRCP Ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana earlier. The committee is expected to issue notices to SEC next week.
