Cong stuck at TPCC chief post; constituencies cry for attention
X
There is lot of disquiet in the Telangana Congress Party. Though the party cadre is still intact, many of the constituency level leaders have deserted the party. At the same time, several of the elected MLAs have defected to the TRS. The party, despite having a strong base, does not have constituency-level coordinators or incharges to motivate the workers and supporters. As a result, the party workers and supporters are getting demoralised further.

There is a growing feeling in the party that anti-TRS sentiment is rising among the people and that the Congress needs to channelize this anger into its support. However, absence of constituency level coordinators is proving to be a huge problem for the party. The leadership has not yet spared a thought to appoint incharges for the 117 constituencies. Sources in the know say that the Congress Party first wants to appoint the PCC chief, who in turn will focus on the constituency level coordinators. So, the party now is looking for a suitable PCC chief.

There is a mad rush within the Congress for the PCC chief post. There are several claimants. The list includes Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Revanth Reddy, V Hanumanth Rao, Ponnam Prabhakar, Dasoju Shravan and even Ponnala Laxmaiah. Till the time the PCC chief is selected, the party apparatus at the constituency level is in limbo.
