As usual, the storm in the Congress party has turned out to be a mere storm in the tea cup . A stormy Congress Working Committee meeting and quite a few walkouts later, it's back to normal. The same resolution of complete faith in Sonia-Rahul combine is passed and the same old song of indispensability of the Gandhi-Nehru family are ritually done. Sonia asked the Congress to find a replacement for her.

Rahul said he is ready to take over. Again, a six-month time is fixed to elect a new president. Till then Sonia will remain the party president. A team would be constituted to select Rahul Gandhi, who is already selected lead the party. The whole of the CWC comprising 52 people, minus Tarun Gogoi, who is unwell, thanked both Sonia and Rahul for leading the party.

So, the Congress Party is back to where it was. The same leader, Sonia Gandhi, will currently lead. Rahul Gandhi will take over from her. Even those, who rebelled and wrote a letter to the Congress leadership seeking a change in the leadership, have expressed complete faith in the same leadership. The only thing that emerged at the meeting was the dissidents were told to raise their concerns only in the party fora and not in the media.
