Congress Foundation Takes Chinese Money To Do Pro-China Research

Here's something that is sure to cause discomfiture to the Congress Party, especially to the first family. The Congress Party's Rajiv Gandhi Foundation has accepted donations from Chinese Embassy in Delhi as also from the Chinese government for its Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies. The amount taken is a whopping 3 lakh dollars.
This is bound to cause lot of inconvenience to the Congress especially at a time when its leaders, including Rahul Gandhi are increasingly seen as being soft on the Chinese. The funds were parked into the RGICS which conducted research to support increasing trade volume with China. The research was guided by people known for their pro-China links and utterances. Many of them are now seen criticizing the army and the PM. The BJP took this issue up and began attacking the Congress for its China links. The Congress was on the defensive as all these donations are listed officially on its website.
The BJP now feels that it can pin down the Congress on this issue and put it on the defensive. None of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation functionaries have spoken. Not even the Congress leaders have spoken. Does it mean â Daal Mein Kuch Kalaa hain.. just wonderingâ¦!!
