How Congress Stunned Revanth Reddy?
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 April 2018 10:01 AM GMTThough he was in commanding position in Telangana TDP, Revanth Reddy shifted loyalties to Congress with the goal of dethroning KCR from power. He, however, wasn't given enough prominence by the Congress Leadership. Apart from not offering him the responsibility of Congress Campaigning, Kodangal MLA was even denied the permission to conduct Padayatra in all the 119 Assembly Constituencies.
Revanth Reddy prepared a route map covering entire Telangana before 2019 Polls to build his personal image apart from strengthening Congress. Whereas, Rahul Gandhi gave a clear indication that padayatras of individuals can't be allowed.
Earlier, DK Aruna announced she would conduct Padayatra from Gadwal district to Adilabad district from June 8th, 2018. On the other hand, Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy declared he will launch padayatra if Congress leadership offers him permission. Even Revanth Reddy planned statewide yatra. In the meantime, TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy launched Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra. Congress High Command realized these developments would lead to group wars in the party. So, Party Leaders were ordered not to plan individual yatras as it sends wrong indication to the public.
Interestingly, Revanth Reddy covered the setback by saying he neither planned padayatra after joining Congress nor Party Leadership denied him permission.
