Congress High Command shocks Komatireddy brothers

The Congress High Command has administered a shock to Komatireddy brothers in their home turf of Nalgonda district. State party affairs incharge Manickam Tagore has rejected Komatireddy brothers' plans to re-admit expelled leader Vaddepalli Ravi into the party. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Revath Reddy too backed Manickam Tagore.

Vaddepalli Ravi defied the party line and contested as a rebel candidate from Thungathurthy assembly constituency. Congress official candidate Addanki Dayakar was defeated by a very narrow margin because of the rebel candidate. TRS candidate Gyadari Kishore managed to scrape past because of the split in the votes. The party has expelled Ravi for six years due to his anti-party activities.

However, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has not only readmitted Ravi into the party, but even promised him the party ticket to contest from Thungathurthi. Addanki Dayakar formally lodged a complaint against this joining. Recently party state affairs incharge Manickam Tagore has categorically said that the rejoining of Ravi was not valid and that he would not be treated as a Congress member. TPCC chief Revanth Reddy too refused to give an appointment to Vaddepalli Ravi. This has now become a prestige issue between both the Komatireddys and the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. Time alone will tell whether Komatireddys convince the party high command and get a ticket for Vaddepalli Ravi.
