The worst phase of Congress party began three-and-a-half years ago and it's yet to end. 130-Year-Old Party was reduced to its lowest count (44) in Lok Sabha with 2014 General Elections.
Assembly Polls were conducted in 18 States since 2014 Lok Sabha Polls. While BJP won in 11 states, Congress could dominate only in 2 states. Until Yesterday, INC holds power in five states in the country. And now, It's strength is being reduced to four with Himachal Pradesh slipping out of its hand Today.
As of now, Karnataka, Punjab, Mizoram and Meghalaya are the only Congress-ruled States in India which have 29 states. It couldn't hold on to power despite winning in Arunachal Pradesh as several party MLAs switched to BJP.
BJP, on the other hand, holds power in 14 states and continues as alliance partner to ruling parties in 5 other states. It was able to form governments in Manipur and Goa despite not attaining magic future in 2016 Assembly Polls. It's a clear indication of how dominating Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have been ever since they took the reins of the party and government.
