The Congress party suffered a big defeat in the recent Munugode by-polls. The party managed to get the third position in the intense by-election. More than the election defeat, the seniors not giving their best was a big shock for the party. Even big leaders like MPs also took the fight lightly.

Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy who was made the TPCC star campaigner for the elections distanced himself from the work. As his younger brother Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy was contesting as the BJP candidate he is believed to have decided to not work for the party.

Now the MP was given a shock by the party as he was not given a chance in Political Affairs Committee (PAC) and the Pradesh Executive Committee (PEC). Political experts say that this is the return gift to the MP from the party leadership for not working for the party for the Munugode polls.

The MP said that he is not after any posts and all he wants is the support of the party workers. Recalling how he stepped down as the Minister for the sake of Telangana the senior Congres leader said that she might contest from Nalgonda in the next polls.

Adding further, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that he will not talk about politics now and he will talk about this only ahead of the polls.

Since the Munugode by-polls episode, reports say that Komatireddy Venkat Reddy might also take the route of his younger brother Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy, and wear the BJP shawl. However, the Parliamentarian is not addressing the media reports and is bypassing them.

There is no clarity on whether he would stay in the party or not. Keeping this in mind the party leadership might have decided to not give him any spec in the teams.

Komatireddy's family has been with the grand old Congress for a very long time. The brothers were made MP and MLA respectively. Despite all this, Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy left the party and resigned as MLA, and created a space for by-elections. However, he lost the by-election despite joining the BJP.
