Cong Plans Strategy To Defeat TRS
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Sep 2018 10:32 AM GMTThough crafty KCR had stolen the thunder by dissolving the assembly and by announcing the names of 105 candidates, the Congress wants to hit back with a two-pronged strategy. It wants to defeat the TRS in its own game by forming an alliance with several parties. Secondly, it wants to encourage key leaders from other parties to join it. It is eyeing those who were denied tickets and those who had left the Congress for some reason or the other.
To defeat the TRS, it is aligning with the TDP and in a day of two, the contours of the alliance will become clear. It is also trying to get the CPI and the Telangana Jana Samiti of Prof. Kodandaram. The CPM as of now is looking for form a Bahujana Left Front. Even the TJS too would be willing to work with the Congress. Though the Congress would have to sacrifice a few seats, it wants to do that to defeat the TRS. A TPCC leader said that the Congress Party's aim is to defeat the TRS and for this, it is ready to make sacrifices.
The Congress is also finetuning its strategy to welcome those who want to join the party. Key leaders like Rajya Sabha MP D Srinivas, MLC Bhupathi Reddy, former MLAs Akula Rajender, Nandiswar Goud, former MP Ramesh Rathod would soon join the party this week. The Konda Surekha-Murali family too is all set to join the Congress. PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy is holding talks with several other leaders.
The TRS is watching these developments closely. Though it has managed to net former speaker KR Suresh Reddy, it is unlikely that other leaders would join the TRS what with its announcement of over 105 candidates.
