Congress Ends Up Utterly Confused On Bhumi Pujan

The Congress Party's plans to throw a spanner in the Ramjanmabhoomi Bhumi Pujan have not just failed, but have proved quite counter-productive. They tried to make a big issue of BJP's patriarchs LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi's absence at the Bhumi Pujan.
But, the BJP countered it saying that they were in their late 80s and early 90s and they were not attending because of health concerns amid Covid scare. Then, they even tried to make Uma Bharti an issue. The Congress tried to peddle stories claiming that she was miffed as she was not properly invited. But, not only Uma Bharti turned up for the Bhumi Pujan, but also she was seen quite active in chatting away happily with Sadvi Ritambhara, another Ayodhya firebrand. But, it was the Congress, which failed to cover up its chinks. There were two opinions on the Temple issue even as the Bhumi Pujan was on. While Priyanka came out openly in support of Ayodhya temple, Rahul Gandhi was confused. Leaders like Amarinder Singh and Kamal Nath openly supported the temple move. In fact, Kamal Nath even conducted Hanuman Chalisa recitation at his home and ensured that he got adequate publicity.
Meanwhile, Mani Shankar Aiyer wrote a piece for media where he lectured on secularism. This confused stand has irked MIM's Asaduddin Owaisi so much that he questioned the Congress Party's secularism itself. So, in the end, the Congress showed itself as a confused party and ended up becoming a joke in itself.
