Will the Congress be completely wiped out in the undivided Adilabad district? This is the question that most people are asking these days. A large number of Congress stalwarts from Adilabad are all set to leave the party and join the BJP. The Congress leadership at the state level is finding it very tough to convince them.
After the Congress Party's dismal performance in both Dubbak bypolls and the GHMC elections, the Congress leaders are worried about their political future. They are now racing to join the BJP and latch on to the success bandwagon. Many leaders are said to be in touch with the BJP biggies. For instance, there is a strong buzz that senior leaders like Palwai Harish Rao and former MP Ramesh Rathod are all set to join the BJP on February 14. Sources say that they have decided to join the party in the presence of BJP national president JP Nadda. A statement is expected from these leaders on Saturday. Similarly, leaders from Nirmal, Mudhole and some other constituencies too are getting ready to join the BJP.
An additional advantage for the BJP is the leadership of Adilabad MP Soyam Bapu Rao. Bapu Rao has wide contacts with the leaders of various political parties and is said to be facilitating the entry of these leaders into the BJP.
