Congress to project three personalities as BMC Mayor candidates!

As a new trend in politics, the political outfits have started even the local body and civic body polls seriously and prestigiously. We have seen it in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election episode.
In another example of the same, one more state is gearing up for the Covid body polls and the political parties are busy making plans on how to win the elections.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the civic body of Mumbai will see the elections in 2022. The grand-old Congress party which made alliance with Shiv Sena and NCP to form government in Maharashtra has reportedly decided to go for the BMC Elections solo.
As part of the efforts, the Mumbai Congress's Strategy Committee had made a list of contestants. The same list also mentions Real Hero Sonu Sood, fitness enthusiast Milind Soman and former Chief Minister's son Riteish Deshmukh as Mayor candidates reportedly.
The Mumbai Congress is of the opinion that, having noted faces like the trio and encouraging youth in the BMC elections would help in moulding the party image.
Looking at the practicalities of the draft prepared by the Mumbai Congress, Maharashtra chief of Congress should approve it first and then discuss it with the Delhi leadership.
It has been widely reported that the leaders will discuss the draft soon and the same would be handed over to HK Patil, Secretary in charge of Maharashtra wing of All India Congress Committee (AICC).
The main question arises is that can the Congress party manage to make the trio enter the BMC elections episode as the Mayor faces.
Taking on Shiv Sena, which has been showing its sheer dominance at the civic polls is not that easy to any political parties.
