Congressmen Disappointed As Pcc Chief S Yet To Visit Home District
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 Aug 2021 6:48 AM GMTOne interesting aspect of Revanth Reddy's regime as the TPCC chief is that he has not visited his home district of Mahabubnagar till now. It's almost two months and Revanth is yet to pay a visit to Mahabubnagar district. Many party workers believed that Revanth will begin his campaign from Mahabubnagar and hoped that it would generate a lot of enthusiasm among the cadres in the South Telangana district. But, Revanth has not even considered Mahabubnagar while drafting his itinerary.
There is intense groupism in Mahabubnagar and there are two or three major leaders in each constituency. As a result, there is competition among the three to undercut one another. Similarly, the DCC chiefs in undivided Mahabubnagar are a divided lot. Also, Krishna river water dispute has become a major issue in the whole of the state. Mahabubnagar is directly affected by this dispute. Yet, Revanth chose not to say anything on the issue.
Except for a protest by former Alampur MLA Sampath Kumar, the Congress party did and said nothing on the issue of Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme. The party has largely remained silen. One expected that Revanth, a native of Mahabubnagar, would raise his voice and mobilize the people on the issue. But, Revanth hasn't even visited the district so far.
Some Congress sources have said that Revanth Reddy may tour Mahabubnagar after Huzurabad byelections. This means he might tour the district only after October. Thus, Revanth may be touring his home district only after five months of taking over as the TPCC chief.
