Lawyer ML Sharma who is appearing for the convicts (Mukesh, Pawan) of 2012 Nirbhaya Gangrape Case announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh if anyone could prove that the victim was violated using an Iron Rod on the day she was raped in a moving bus in Delhi.
Mr. Sharma points out that neither the Victim nor her Boyfriend mentioned anything about iron rod in their statements. He disapproved the version of Cops saying that convicts have inserted an iron rod into the victim's body through her vagina and pulled out her intestines. He claims that the iron rod theory is medically unacceptable and postmortem report by Singapore Hospital confirms that Victim's uterus and ovaries are intact. He further adds, An iron rod can't reach the intestines without damaging the uterus. The iron rod theory was only added to sensationalize the case and provoke people's anger.
The Trail Court awarded death penalty to all the four adults involved in Nirbhaya Gangrape Case. While one of the six accused committed suicide, a minor has been released after serving three years at reform home. Even the Delhi High Court upheld the capital punishment awarded by the lower court. Now, Supreme Court will take a final call on the fate of the convicts.
