For some weeks, India has been registering fewer fresh Coronavirus infections. Despite, a decline in fresh Covid-19 infections, India's caseload of pandemic went past the 95.71 lakh mark.

Going by the data released by the Union Home Ministry, India registered as many as 36,595 fresh COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, which pushes the total caseload to 95,71,559. Compared to yesterday, the fresh cases went up slightly.

The fresh fatalities have also gone down in the last 24 hours. With, 540 people breathing their last battling the virus in 24 hours, the total fatality toll zoomed to 1,39,188. India's mortality rate stood at 1.5 percent.

In a piece of good news, the total Coronavirus recoveries mounted to a whopping 90,16,289, including 42,916 people beating the virus in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate rose to 94.2 percent.

India shows a promising sign of tackling the Coronavirus pandemic. India continues to keep the count of the active cases below the 5-lakh mark. The active cases stood at 4,16,082.

On the other hand, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal, the worst-affected states with the Covid-19 outbreak registered a decline in fresh cases.

Globally, as many as 65,503,645 patients were diagnosed with the pandemic., 45,351,518 patients have been recovered so far, while a total of 1,510,867 patients have succumbed to the pandemic.
