The novel coronavirus which has created a deadly impact worldwide has started troubling India too with as many as eight states reporting positive cases of COVID-19. Earlier reports emerged that many cricketers have reportedly said they are in plans to quit the IPL in the wake of coronavirus.

If the latest reports are to be believed, the COVID-19 might also show an impact on the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This latest news emerged with the Karnataka government denying to host any IPL matches in Bengaluru.

Going into details a resident of Bengaluru resident was tested positive for COVID-19 as per the Karnataka Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar. The patient was kept under quarantine at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD) in Bengaluru, the Karnataka government has called for a shut down of primary schools and IT companies following the outbreak.

Some media reports state that the Karnataka Government has written a letter to Centre urging to postpone IPL season this year with the coronavirus threat.
