City Civil Court issued probation orders on beef and pork festivals which were planned by two groups in Hyderabad.
During the hearing of a petition filed by Advocate Janardhan Goud over the beef and pork festivals planned in Osmania University on December 10th, The Judge agreed with the version of the complainant that such events organized by students could lead to law and order issues. The Court has delivered its judgement ordering no beef and pork festivals will be permitted till December 21st. This development came as bitter shock to the organizers of beef and pork festivals.
The complainant alleged beef and pork festivals are aimed at hurting the sentiments of Hindus and Muslims. He also pointed out such festivals caused injuries to people and even attempt-to-murder cases were registered in the past. He urged the court to issue a status quo as these festivals are a violation of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
