AP: Court Slaps B-Tech Student Rape Convict with Death Penalty!

The attacks on women are a big concern for us as a society. No matter how strongly the governments are dealing with it and bringing tougher acts, the attacks are being reported. To tell how the rapes are bringing a bad name to India, a few cities were named unsafe to women.
The rape cases are growing in Southern states as well. In one such case, a college-going student was attacked in broad daylight in Andhra Pradesh. The victim sustained serious injuries with multiple stabbings and breathed her last. The incident was reported earlier last year.
As a sensational development in the case, a fast track court in Andhra Pradesh which heard the case had ordered a death sentence for the culprit who is identified as Shashi Krishna. Though he was arrested days after the incident with the help of CCTV footage, it took some time to examine the lab reports.
Based on the Forensic reports and DNA tests, the investigation officers have confirmed that the accused Shashi Krishna is the culprit. When he was produced before the court, the fast-track court had slapped him with the death penalty.
In many instances, the Court had slapped the culprits with the death penalty. Starting with the sensational Nirbhaya case the same happened in many cases. But the rapes did not stop and it's high time that we as a country should work on putting a full stop to this.
