Shashi Tharoor Escapes Arrest For Now

A Delhi Court on Thursday granted interim bail to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor in the Sunanda Pushkar death case. Conditional bail was issued on a surety of Rs 1 lakh. He was asked not to leave the country without the permission of court.
Tharoor's Lawyer Vikas Pahwa informed his client would appear before the court on Saturday for seeking regular bail. During the hearing, He argued why Tharoor could be denied bail even after filing the charge sheet without the arrest. He even mentioned SIT has stated investigation of the death case has concluded.
Delhi Police opposed the bail plea of Shashi Tharoor stating he could influence the witnesses and might even flee to a foreign country to prevent arrest. The Parliamentarian was charged with Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 498 A (subjection a woman to cruelty) of IPC.
Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in the suite room of a luxury hotel in Delhi on January 17th, 2014.
