Covid-19 Cases In India Zooms To 2,84,41,986, After 1,34,154 New Cases Detected In 24 Hours

The total deaths in the country rose to 3,37,989, with 2,887 people losing their battle with the deadly virus in the past 24 hours, the data issued by the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
The active case count of Coronavirus in the country stood at 17,13,413 after a total of 2,63,90,584 patients have been declared cured and discharged from the hospital so far. The active cases remained below 20 lakh for the third consecutive day.
On the other hand, as many as 35,37,82,648 samples to detect respiratory disease were tested in the country as of Wednesday, while a total of 21,59,873 samples were tested in the past 24 hours.
Tamil Nadu has been seeing more single-day cases than Maharashtra over the past few days. Going on the same line, Tamil Nadu reported 25,317 new cases, followed by Kerala(19,661), Karnataka(16,387), and Maharashtra(15,169).
The SBI in its report said that India would witness the third wave of Covid, which is likely to be as severe as the second wave. However, the SBI said, the age group of 12-18 should be vaccinated as they are most vulnerable to the deadly virus.
