The ongoing Coronavirus continues to ring the danger bells across the globe. From rich, developed countries to poor, underdeveloped countries, several countries are facing the wrath of the pandemic.

The North American country Canada, which is facing the wrath of the ongoing pandemic has once again decided to extend the ban on cruise ships. The ban was extended till the March of 2022.

Canada has decided to ban the cruise ships in the Candian waters in 2020 given the deadly outbreak of the Coronavirus originated from the dragon country China. With no sign of a reduction in the virus spread, Canada has extended the ban on cruise ships.

Canadian Minister of Transport Omar Alghabra took to microblogging site Twitter to announce the news of the extension of the ban of cruise ships. He said the decision was taken to protect the vulnerable groups in the nation.

"Today, I announced a 1-year ban on pleasure craft in Canadian Arctic waters and cruise vessels in all Canadian waters, these prohibitions will protect the most vulnerable among our communities and avoid overwhelming our health care systems," the Minister's tweet reads.

The first ban imposed on cruise ships in Canada was extended till the May of last year. However, the ban was extended till October. Now the ban was extended for the third time.

Despite the cruise ships were banned, the Canadian government assured that the transport system in the country will remain safe, so that the public will not face any problems while commuting.

The new guidelines of permitting conditional sailing are expected to leave a heavy toll on the cruise industry. The industry, which is expecting some incentives from the government, faced a brutal shock with the decision.

The series of bans and extension of the crucible ships have pushed the cruise industry in the nation into severe losses.
