The daily count of fresh Coronavirus have come down rapidly, however, India's caseload of Covid-19 has surpassed the 1.02 cr milestone, which forced the union government to take a call on Covid-19 guidelines.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in its new statement said the existing Covid-19 guidelines will remain in force till the 31st of January for better surveillance.

The statements came days after new variants of Coronavirus virus were found in other countries and the WHO warning the world to be more careful as more variants f Covid-19 might be detected in coming days.

In the official statement, the MHA stressed the same point and said, keeping things like the rapid growth of Covid-19 cases globally and a new lineage of pandemic found in the United Kingdom into consideration, the decision was taken.

'Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) extends the earlier guidelines for COVID19 surveillance to remain in force up to 31st January 2021,' News Agency ANI quoted.

'Accordingly, containment zones continue to be demarcated carefully; prescribed containment measures strictly followed within these zones; COVID-appropriate behavior promoted and strictly enforced; and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prescribed in respect of various permitted activities followed scrupulously,' the MHA said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued orders to all the States and Union Territories to implement the guidelines strictly. The orders were sent on Monday.
