COVID-19 pushes Airlines to run empty Flights

The huge impact of the COVID-19 has turned a bit ugly which has forced Airlines across the nations to operate empty flights to see that the virus will not spread its wings further.
This latest results in the carriers losing around 80 percent of their income following the outbreak.
Though the new condition applies mainly for the flights that operate to and from China and Hong Kong, it, however, might show the impact on other places as well that includes Italy and South Korea with the passengers not daring to travel anywhere.
Following this, Transport secretary Grant Shapps took to Twitter and urged the Airport Coordination Ltd (ACL) which proposed the slot allocation to ease the 80/20 ratio so that the unnecessary cost and carbon emissions can be ruled out.
''I am particularly concerned that, in order to satisfy the 80/20 rule, airlines may be forced to fly aircraft at very low load factors, or even empty, in order to retain their slots,'' read his Tweet.
''The impact of coronavirus on demand has meant that airlines are having to cancel some routes and re-think their schedules,'' said Tim Alderslade, chief executive of Airlines UK.
