When everyone thought that the Covid fear was over and the employees started to work from the offices, India reported a big spike in the fresh Coronavirus for two consecutive days. The single-day cases in the country have doubled in just one day. The unwanted development had sent shocking waves across the nation.

The Ministry of Health issued a health bulletin on the fresh cases reported in the past 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, India saw as many as 2,183 new Covid-19 cases. This took the total number of cases caused by the Covid to a whopping 4,30,44,280. On Sunday, 1,150 infections were reported which went to 2,183 on Monday.

Not just the infections, even the casualties triggered by the pandemic also increased. Including the backlog of casualties reported from Kerala, India saw as many as 214 deaths in the past 24 hours. The official data says that not less than 5,21,965 people lost their lives to the contagious disease.

Despite the fresh cases and casualties going up, the single-day recoveries also increased which is a good sign of progress. Close to 2,000 Covid patients have managed to beat the virus, which takes the total recoveries in the country to 4,25,10,773. This loosely translates to a massive recovery rate of 98.76 percent.

Looking at the efforts that are being made in India to contain the virus spread, the testing numbers and vaccine numbers went up massively. The tests to detect the Covid virus have crossed the massive 83 crore mark. To be precise, as many as 83,21,04,846 samples were tested as of now, while 2,61,440 samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

On the vaccination front, more and more beneficiaries including adults and teenagers are being given the vaccine doses. As many as 186.54 crore vaccine doses were given to the beneficiaries across the nation. The massive numbers include over 2 lakh vaccines that were administered in the past 24 hours.

On the other hand, the global health agency World Health Organization(WHO) had issued a warning to India that the new sub-variant cannot be taken for granted as the variant is ringing dangerous bells in various nations. Having said that, the WHO said that the precautionary measures should not be stopped.
