Covid Scare: Going for complete lockdown can only save Andhra Pradesh!

However, the main purpose of imposing lockdown was not served as the fresh Covid cases continue to rise. Despite the restriction, Andhra Pradesh has been reporting more than 20,000 new cases daily.
It is said that the positivity rate of Covid stood at 20 percent in Andhra Pradesh. Centre had earlier allowed the States and Union Territories to impose restrictions and local lockdown to curb the infections if the positive rate is 20 percent.
Taking the current situation into consideration, media reports are abuzz that, the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is in favor of imposing complete lockdown across the state with strict restrictions.
Andhra Pradesh is in second place in the list of states that are reporting the highest new cases only next to Maharashtra. A few states in the states have also made it to the list of districts that are severely hit by the virus.
The situation has reached a level that the Union Government urged the state government to take the required measures and precautions so that the situation gets under control.
As a result of all these developments, the concerned officials have also advised the same to the state government that only imposing a lockdown will help them in tackling the virus spread.
