The global pandemic Coronavirus which was later dubbed as COVID-19 is troubling the IT sector starting with the lockdown. Now the top companies in the US which have given placements for IIT's during on-campus placements are reportedly opting to cancel these jobs with lack of revenue.

The happiness of More than 8,000 students across the nation studying in the top and elite institutions couldn't last long as the top companies which have earlier offered jobs wanted to pause the hiring of new candidates as many nations were observing lockdown and international flights are not in a functional phase.

The top institutions have asked the MNCs to not cancel the job offers made for the students and urged them to think again about their harsh decision.

'Even some companies with data privacy issues have agreed to get laptops couriered across, that will be done once the lockdown is lifted. We have even had a few big consulting firms offer to help students who might find themselves at a loose end,' U Dinesh Kumar, chair, career development services, IIM Bangalore said in this regard.

While some companies have offered work from home for the job seekers, some of the companies have put a cut on the pay scales and assured them that the pay scale will be adjusted once the situation gets settles.
