Covid vaccinations will be completed in three months: TS Govt to High Court!

Telangana Public Health Director Dr. G Srinivasa Rao, who appeared in the court on the behalf of the state government told the court that in the coming three months, the vaccinations will be completed in the state.
“Currently, 10 lakh vaccinations are being carried out daily. So far 41 lakh people were administered with the first dose and 17 lakh people were given the second dose of vaccine. 2.18 crore more people are yet to receive the vaccine. By July 2, 17 lakh more doses will reach the state from the Centre,' the Health Director told the court.
As a response to the Court's question on refund of extra fees charged by the private hospitals, the Health Director said, a sum of Rs 65 lakh was returned to the patients. The balance patients should receive the amount soon, the court directed.
Elaborating on the RT-PCR tests, Srinivasa Rao told the court that 14 new RT-PCR labs would start functioning from tomorrow. The process to constitute the advisory committee is underway, he said.
Telangana reported 1,897 fresh Coronavirus cases, pushing the total cases in the state to 5,95,000. Including 15 new casualties, total Covid related fatalities rose to 2,982. With 5,67,285 total recoveries, active cases stood at 24,306
