Covid Warns India Again with a Rise in Cases!
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Jun 2022 8:10 AM GMTIt's been more than two years since we started living with the deadly Coronavirus. Since its inception and its entry into India, the virus has been proving one point that it cannot be taken for granted and neglecting it could lead to disaster. We have seen this during the second wave.
When we managed to beat the first wave people let down the Covid guard and as a result, we had to see more and more cases and casualties in the second wave. India faced the third wave as well. However, it was not that severe compared to the previous waves.
Giving a warning of the possibility of another wave, India recorded a big jump in the single-day cases which is the highest in India since March. The data mentioned by the Union Health Ministry says that India saw no less than 7,240 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which marks the highest number of fresh cases since March 1.
Not just that, the single-day cases reported in the country went up by more than 2,000 which translates to a jump of around 38 percent. The fresh cases have been seeing steady growth since the start of June at regular intervals. Nine days into the month, close to 40,000 cases were reported as of now.
Looking at the states with the highest cases, Maharashtra saw as many as 2,701 fresh coronavirus positive cases in the last 24 hours, followed by the national capital Delhi(564 cases), Tamil Nadu(195), Telangana(116), Gujarat (111).
Going by the data shared by the union health ministry, there are 32,498 active cases of Coronavirus in the country. Including the fresh casualties reported in the past 24 hours, the total number of deaths in India rose to 5,24,723. Despite all this, the national recovery rate is not coming down from the 90s. The recovery rate stood at 98.72 percent.
On the other hand, vaccine doses are being administered to the fullest. Besides the anti-Covid doses, the booster doses and children's vaccines are also being administered. The parents are also encouraging their kids to take the doses.
