COVID-19 Cases Reach 101 In Dharavi Slum

Maharashtra is turning out to be the worst-hit state in India with the novel coronavirus which has a huge number of 2073 positive cases to date. Asia's largest slum located in the Dharavi area of Mumbai recorded 15 positive cases on a single day on Friday taking the toll of the positive cases in Dharavi to 101.
Out of the 15 new cases, Matunga labour camp, Muslim Nagarand, and Indira Nagar reported three cases each while Social Nagar recorded two positive cases with Dr. Baliga Nagar, Laxmi chawl, Janata society, and Sarvoday Society recorded one positive case each.
To date, 10 patients in the Dharavi slum have succumbed to the COVID-19 as per the details given by the Brihan Mumbai Corporation(BMC) corporation.
'Till date we have screened 33,000 patients and marked 34 containment zones with six red zones. We are screening almost all high risk and low risk contacts of the patients. We are working on a target basis hence the numbers of patients are increasing,' assistant commissioner of the G/North Ward Kiran Dighavkar said
