Araku MLA & Ex-MLA Killed By Maoists

CPI Maoists killed Araku MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and Former MLA Siveri Soma at Liviriputtu in Dumbriguda Mandal on Sunday afternoon. The deceased MLA was survived by his wife and two sons.
Kidari Sarveswara Rao was elected as Araku MLA on YCP Ticket in 2014 Polls. He, however, joined TDP later due to Operation Akarsh.
MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and Ex-MLA Siveri Soma were on their way to Dumbriguda Mandal when this shocking incident happened.
On the eve of their formation day September 21st, CPI Maoists decided to celebrate the occasion for a week till 27th of this month. As many as 60 Maoists took part in the attack. Rural SP Rahul Dev Sharma told, 'Notices were served to politicians in the naxals hit list to inform prior about their village visits. Whereas, MLA and Ex-MLA hadn't given prior information to the police'.
Kidari Sarveswara Rao has been facing allegations of illegal mining in the agency area. Maoists issued a warning to him for allegedly supporting Bauxite Mining. They had been conducting reccee since few days to know about the movements of the MLA for the assassination.
