Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress ended the 35 Years ruling of CPM in West Bengal. The Left Party which dominated for decades isn't able to compete with Didi since few years. It has come to the stage of seeking the support of BJP for regaining some ground in the state.
In the recent Lok Sabha by-poll in UP, SP and BSP joined hands to defeat ruling BJP. This equation might have inspired CPM and BJP to come together for winning against ruling TMC in West Bengal.
For the upcoming Panchayat Polls, CPM and BJP seems to have reached an understanding to fight collectively. While BJP will be backing candidates of Left, CPM will be supporting candidates of Saffron Party.
Whereas, CPM Chief Sitharam Yechuri denied maintaining any ties with BJP and termed the reports as a bad propaganda spread by TMC Leaders.
