Cricketer-Turned-Commentator Gives Bold Advice For CSK In Mega Auction

In the wake of reports claiming that the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) might call for an auction for the next edition of IPL, Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra made a bold remark on CSK skipper MS Dhoni.
In the video posted on his Facebook account, Chopra said CSK should not retain Dhoni in the auction and if the franchise does so it will lose Rs 15 crores. He opined that CSK should send the skipper into the auction pool and can buy him back by using the Right To Match (RTM) card.
"I think CSK should release MS Dhoni going into the mega auction, if there is a mega auction then you will be with that player for three years. But will Dhoni stay with you for three years? I am not saying don't keep Dhoni, he will play the next IPL, but if you keep him as a retained player but you will have to pay Rs 15 crore," He can be heard in the video.
Aakash Chopra maintained that by releasing MS Dhoni the franchise can save Rs 15 crores and they can build a strong team by using the money.
As the CSK lead by Mahendra Singh Dhoni had a poor run form in the edition, reports emerged that Dhoni will leave IPL too. However, he made it clear that this is not his last season in IPL.
Recently, former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar said that MS Dhino is likely to handover CSK captaincy to Faf du Plessis and will continue as Wickterkeepr. Aakash Chopra too advising CSK to leave gained significance.
CSK is the three-time IPL winner in the tournament. However, 2020 turned out as a nightmare for the franchise. The team couldn’t even qualify for playoffs. It barely managed to reach sixth place in the points table.
