Crime won - We lost: Dec 16 Gangrape Victim's Mom

One of the six convicts of sensational 2012 December 16th gangrape in a moving bus, a juvenile, was sentenced to just three years in a special home on grounds that he was a juvenile at the time of the incident. As a result, The teenager will walk free on December 20th, 2015.
Responding to the concerns raised by Centre over the mental fitness of the juvenile convict, High Court reminded the maximum punishment in the special home can't go beyond 3 years and hence an order extending his stay can't be issued. The Court even informed that the juvenile convict will be handed over his parents or guardian post the release, and their identity will be kept as secret due to security reasons. The juvenile convict will be under the scanner of Child Welfare Officer or Probation Office for 2 years after the release. All the findings during the examination will be submitted to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).
Mother of the Paramedical Student Jyoti Singh (Dec 16 Gangrape Victim) expressed their dissatisfaction over the verdict - 'Jurm Jeet Gaya, Hum Haar Gaye' (Crime won, We lost). They complained neither Government nor Judiciary were able to fulfill the promise of justice would be done.
