Crisis Worsens in Sri Lanka, When It Will Stop?
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 July 2022 2:00 PM GMTThe ongoing crisis in the island nation Sri Lanka had reached its peak as the angry protestors bulldozed into the residence of the Prime Minister and President. The Prime Minister's house was set on fire and the angry mob entered into the President's house in a bid to show their anger.
As the mob is uncontrollable, the army was called in to control them. Tear gas was used in a few places to handle the situation. Amid this, the chief of the Sri Lankan Army made an appeal to the people to understand the situation and not hit the roads to protest.
Adding fuel to the issue, a few Cabinet Ministers have stepped down from their positions. Few more Ministers are believed to do the same.
People in Sri Lanka want the President and Prime Minister to resign so that others will take up the position and bring the economical crisis under control. Former Cricketers joined the protests and supported the angry mob in the problematic situation.
A few countries like India, the US, and others come forward to extend help by sending supplies like food and others. Though it would come in handy for the crisis-hit nation, the support will not make a massive change for Sri Lanka.
Everyone wants the Prime Minister and President to resign. It appears like, till they completely resign from their posts, the people in Sri Lanka will not stop their protest. Bringing the situation under control is in the hands of the PM and President. We have to wait and see what they will do.
