The drought situation in Telangana is emptying the reservoirs and the rivers are resembling look of playgrounds with lack of water. Manjira river which quenches the thirst of Hyderabad has dried up due to lack of rains and it had an adverse impact on the crocodiles as well.It is said that that the crocodiles ended up in the fields in search of water, sending shivers down the spine of many farmers.

Today one of the crocodile was spotted in sugarcane field in Manoor mandal. Locals informed the matter to first officials who caught the reptile and it was then transported back to the Manjira Wildlife Sanctuary from where it had strayed. It was a 13-foot, 400-kg crocodile.

This was not an isolated incident, as in the past few weeks as many as seven crocodiles were spotted in fields.Few days ago a crocodile was caught in the sugarcane field of the late legislator P. Kishta Reddy.
