Cyber Crime: Hyd Person Shells Lakhs To Attackers!
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 Feb 2023 1:27 AM ISTCyber Crimes are on a rise. No matter how hard the Police department is trying to make people stay away from these crimes, the fraudsters are exploring new ways to loot the targets. Making video calls and trapping the target is the latest trend that has been followed by fraudsters of late.
The fraudsters work in a way that they send a link for a video call with beautiful women. They often target desperate men. Once they open the link and start a video call the fraudsters record the whole call and start demanding money threatening that the video would be leaked.
The victims pay the money for fear that their image will be spoiled if the news comes out. Very rarely the victims decide to go to the Police. Their fear is the weapon of the fraudsters and they loot the targets for money. One such incident was reported from Hyderabad.
Going into detail a youth was targeted by the fraudsters. As asked by the fraudsters the victim paid as much as Rs 5 lakhs. However, the harassment is said to have not stopped despite paying the amount. With no option left, he approached the concerned Police and complained.
The investigation is going on and further details are awaited. The cops are saying that people should be more cautious and stay away from these messages and calls or else they will have to pay a high price.
