Purandeswari's Capital Confusion

Purandeswaris Capital Confusion
X
Is the BJP still confused about the three capitals issue? Despite replacing Kanna Lakshminarayana, who was decidedly pro-Amaravati, there still seems to be some kind of ambiguity in the party about the issue of three capitals.

Soon after her election as the general secretary of the party, former minister and NTR family member Daggubati Purandeswari has stirred a harnet's nest. She said she was all for Amaravati as the sole capital of the Telugus of AP. Her comment is at variance with the BJP stand, which argues that this is a prerogative of the state government. She said while she was in support of Kurnool as the judicial capital, she wanted only Amaravati to be the other capital.

While this is music to the people of the Amaravati and Guntur, the people of Vizag are deeply upset. The problem is two-fold. Firstly, it is at variance with the AP BJP's official line and it is the exact opposite of what party state president Somu Veerraju has been saying. Secondly, this will hit the prospects of the BJP leaders in the north Andhra. In fact, even Purandeswari has contested and became a minister from Vizag. In the last elections too, she has contested unsuccessfully from Vizag. So, why is Purandeswari sending conflicting signals? Why is she opposing Vizag when her political fortunes are linked to Vizag?
