Women Commission Chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari lauded Dasari Narayana Rao for earning a special place in the hearts of people with his helping nature. She paid last respects to the legendary filmmaker at Film Chamber.
Dasari offered Scholarships for poor students of Andhra, Osmania, Venkateswara, Chennai and Kerala Varsities. In 1980, He established Dasari Women's College in Palakollu. He even set up an Educational Institution in Chennai on his wife Padma's name.
In 1975, Dasari collected Rs 4.50 lakh for Kakinada Police Welfare Fund.
In 1977, Dasari organized a rally supporting Unity-in-Diversity of India.
In 1982, Dasari organized 'Dasari Street Night'. He made NTR & ANR perform to raise donation for construction of police station in Visakha.
In 1985, Dasari collected Rs 30 lakh for Cyclone Victims.
In 1986, Dasari collected Rs 35 lakh for Drought-relief Fund.
In 1990, Dasari raised Rs 1 crore through Star Night and offered the proceeds to State Government.
1998, Dasari raised Rs 3 crore by organizing a cricket match between South-North Indian Actor for Cyclone Relief Fund.
1999, Dasari organized Street Rallies & Entertainment Programmes for contributing to Kargil Martyr Fund.
